Bharat Ratna · Constitution Maker · Social Justice Icon · Buddhist Leader
Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar — born on 14 April 1891 in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh — was India's greatest social revolutionary, jurist, economist, and political leader. He dedicated his entire life to the fight for social justice, equality, and human rights.
He earned 32 degrees from Columbia University and the London School of Economics and learned over 9 languages. He was the first Indian to earn a doctorate in Economics from abroad. His personal library contained over 50,000 books.
He was not just a leader but a visionary who dreamed of an India where no one is considered inferior or superior by birth. "Educate, Agitate, Organize" was his lifelong mantra.
In 1947, he became independent India's first Law Minister and as Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee, he wrote India's Constitution — which still protects 1.4 billion people today. This is his true legacy.
Education is the milk of a lioness — whoever drinks it roars like a lion.
Education is the weapon that can change your future. Educate yourself and others.
Speaking against injustice is also a duty. Don't stay silent — raise your voice.
An individual is weak; strength lies in unity. Fight together to win together.
Under the leadership of Dr. Ambedkar, the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution on 26 November 1949 and it came into effect on 26 January 1950. This is the world's largest written constitution enshrining the fundamental principles of Equality, Liberty, Fraternity and Justice.
