Introduction

A Revolutionary Soul

Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar — born on 14 April 1891 in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh — was India's greatest social revolutionary, jurist, economist, and political leader. He dedicated his entire life to the fight for social justice, equality, and human rights.

He earned 32 degrees from Columbia University and the London School of Economics and learned over 9 languages. He was the first Indian to earn a doctorate in Economics from abroad. His personal library contained over 50,000 books.

He was not just a leader but a visionary who dreamed of an India where no one is considered inferior or superior by birth. "Educate, Agitate, Organize" was his lifelong mantra.

In 1947, he became independent India's first Law Minister and as Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee, he wrote India's Constitution — which still protects 1.4 billion people today. This is his true legacy.

Education is the milk of a lioness — whoever drinks it roars like a lion.

Priceless Thoughts

His Golden Words

Until you achieve social liberty, whatever freedom the law gives you is useless.

I measure the progress of a community by the degree of progress which women have achieved.

Political democracy cannot last unless there lies at the base of it social democracy.

Religion is for man, not man for religion. If religion does not treat man as man, then that is not religion.

We are first Indians and then Hindu, Muslim or Christian — and this is my belief.

Education is the milk of a lioness — whoever drinks it roars like a lion.
